OnAir successfully launches Mediation with ENTEREST’s
EDR Workbench platform.
EDR Workbench enables OnAir to handle expanding requirements and increased traffic
associated with their inflight communications business.
Geneva, Switzerland / Warsaw, Poland / Hamburg, Germany, 23rd of May 2010
- ENTEREST GmbH, one of the most innovative providers of XDR-Management solutions
to the telecommunications industry, today announced that OnAir, Switzerland, – with
the help of AMG.net, Poland – has successfully launched the EDR Workbench platform
to replace their existing in-house mediation solution.
ENTEREST's EDR Workbench solution was selected to enable OnAir to flexibly handle
the growing number of different data streams and processing complexity for subscribers
and partners arising from their inflight communications offering.
"After a careful evaluation process, we selected ENTEREST’s EDR Workbench system
because it offered real business benefits – flexibility, time-to-market, cost/performance
and reduced long-term total cost of ownership,” said Jean-Damien Beaud, OnAir’s
Head of IT and Systems. “With this platform, we can add more partners, more revenue
streams and more business segments with minimal lead-time or disruption. Everyone
will benefit from the launch of ENTEREST's EDR Workbench mediation platform."
The product configuration and integration was performed by AMG.net, a leading Polish
systems integrator with international reach. "The deployment was done with virtually
no need for support from ENTEREST. This proves how easy it is to configure the EDR
Workbench platform and how well it works for any type of XDR-processing requirement",
says Mariusz Piotrowicz, Consulting Manager for Telecommunications at AMG.net.
"The mobile communications market for travellers on planes and ships is set to grow
rapidly with the deployment of OnAir’s technology on an increasing number of vessels
and aircraft. We are looking forward to a long-standing relationship with OnAir
as it continues to lead the way in this field," says Andrew Tan, CEO of ENTEREST.
OnAir has to date operated more than 112,000 fully connected SwiftBroadband flights
to 282 cities, connecting passengers from 72 countries across Europe, the Middle
East, North America and North Africa, and subscribing to 185 mobile phone operators.
OnAir is also the first inflight communications provider to use Inmarsat SwiftBroadband
4th generation satellite services, the leading satellite network for airlines communications
services worldwide.
